Antarctic Science Foundation farewells inaugural Executive Director
The Executive Director of the Antarctic Science Foundation, Chrissie Trousselot, has decided to step down from her position and will finish in the role on September 11.
Chrissie has made a considerable contribution to the Antarctic Science Foundation as the inaugural Executive Director, and the Board wishes to express its gratitude for her leadership and dedication in setting up the Foundation.
Over the past two years, Chrissie has led the Foundation from its establishment through to its operational phase – building partnerships, projects and opportunities for philanthropists, businesses and the community to contribute to the protection of the Antarctic region and our planet through supporting Antarctic science.
The Chair of the Board, Dr Katherine Woodthorpe AO, paid tribute to Chrissie’s work.
“Chrissie’s contribution to establishing the Antarctic Science Foundation helped build a strong base from which we can grow and deliver on our mission,” she said.
In order to strengthen its fundraising program in a competitive philanthropic environment which has been impacted by COVID-19, the Board will immediately proceed with recruitment for its next Executive Director.
“We will continue to work closely with our valued donors, our Tasmanian based public partner the Australian Antarctic Division, and internationally renowned scientists to fulfill the Foundation’s purpose,” said Katherine.
The Board wish Chrissie every success for her future endeavours.
